As you had mentioned on your question post, maybe some rounded parts that currently have straight edges? Like on the thin parts of the legs. For the tail, maybe a basic skunk-shaped tail and render it with the same flexible texture that Zeke, Ambient, and Specula have on their necks (like a tubing texture). Does that make sense?
Yes, I am happy with the way the tail is (I might change the shape of the knives a bit though), but it's the lower back area I want to fluff up. I may change the back legs as you said though, it sounds better and poofier than the straight edges.
