These are really, really beautiful. And as someone who has also studied Zoid run cycles for animation, I can really appreciate your work! I can for sure see how you studied them well. The front legs look right out of the anime's animation cycle! The quality of the drawing is also really well done. I love your details, the consistency, the colors, everything! I'm also very impressed that you were able to animate the tail so consistently and smoothly. The animation is totally believable and the length of the tail doesn't morph at all. Great!
One thing I would look at is the lower hind legs. That part seems very stiff and swings around a bit. I know metal doesn't compress, but you can still coil the parts between the joints and release it so it really looks like he's getting springing power and taking these long leaps. I think when those paws come in, then could coil up a bit more with the claws pointed up more before they hit the ground. As he pushes off of the ground, I'd let that paw point out more in the direction behind it to make it feel more mobile. I could be wrong and you don't have to make any changes, but I hope I can offer a constructive observation! I think your Black Liger Zero better captures the hind leg movement I'm talking about.
Yeah I've been thinking of redoing the Jager's back legs since they look odd to me as well. I used only 3 symbols for each back leg instead of 4 like with the black Liger, because I thought it would help me in not losing track of which layer is which (there's like 20 layers in the rigs and they're a mess to work with), but it makes it look more stiff and it seems like it wasn't a good sacrifice.
Oh, okay! Looking at that I can notice it now. I think the four really really helps give it that spring off of the ground. And yeah I bet that's a lot to keep track of, but looking great and totally worth it! ^^ Looking at the Black Zero it's so beautiful! I love the effect with the eye and the sky and everything - yes sorry I'm still on the Jager deviation but - praise to all of your work!
Can't wait to see what you do with this, running with the Saix will be so cool!
